Geoffrey K. Oertel

Geoff Oertel is a civil litigator who brings more than 25 years of legal expertise to clients across Alamance County and the surrounding region. Born in Delaware and raised in Pittsford, New York, he began his legal career in Washington, D.C., where he gained valuable experience in a fast-paced litigation environment. Since relocating to North Carolina in 2000, Geoff has built a respected practice grounded in clear analysis, strong courtroom advocacy, and a results-driven approach to resolving legal issues.

Geoff earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1994 and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1997. His practice includes real property litigation, estate litigation, personal injury matters, nursing home negligence cases, and estate administration. Known for his thorough preparation and clear communication, Geoff is committed to helping clients navigate both emotionally sensitive matters and high-stakes disputes with confidence.

Active in the community, Geoff is a graduate of Leadership Alamance and has served as President of Allied Churches of Alamance County. He and his wife, Angela, live in Alamance County, where they enjoy traveling together and spending time on the golf course.
